Diagnosed with Addison’s disease at a young age, 25 year old Michelle Grant from Hamilton has a number of health problems which left her with low self-esteem.
Michelle struggled to find friends, didn’t go to school and rarely left the house. But in 2008, she joined the Danceworx programme where she learned leadership skills which gave her the confidence and the ambition to get out.
Since then, Michelle has been volunteering in her local community and has dedicated all her free time to deliver activities such as sports, dance, and youth clubs to kids.
Already she has given up more than 500 hours and even took a group of children with additional support needs to Spain, allowing them to take part in a variety of water sports and activities.
