Spread the word
Truth About Youth recently teamed up with successful Grants Fund applicants, Argyll and Bute Youth Forum to help them spread the word of all the fantastic work done by the young people in the area by helping them produce the finalists videos for the first ever Argyll and Bute Awards 2013. The awards were held at the Phoenix Cinema in Oban and was a huge success in showing all the contributions young people in Argyll and Bute are making. A massive well done and congratulations to all the finalist and winners on the night.
Leanne has shown true entrepreneurship in setting up her own business around the challenges she faces in life. Leanne, born with a tethered spinal cord, was unable to carry out certain tasks growing up, and chose to help look after her mother who also has a disability. Rather than leave the area to undertake further education, she set up a business close to her heart. Leanne, a talented artist, travelled round local craft fairs selling her own prints and cards before she was spotted by a publishing company and offered commissioning work. She has now set up a website to sell her work and holds exhibitions in local galleries.
