Samantha Kinghorn, aged 17 from Gordon in the Scottish Borders, was just 14 when she broke her back at the family farm and became a wheelchair user.

After just six months in hospital, the brave teeanger tried a variety of sports and within a year began training in the sport of wheelchair racing.

In her first season in 2012, Samantha finished 2nd in the London Mini Marathon and set Scottish records over 100 and 200m. In late 2012 Samantha was announced in the Scottish Athletics Commonwealth Games 2014 training squad having set a qualifying time in the wheelchair 1500m in her first attempt at the distance.

Recognised as an up and coming talent and included in the GB Talent Squad, Samantha is quite simply, an inspiration.
