Sports-mad Matt McCormick, aged 16 from Bearsden, has won the British Championship snowboarding title for the last three years. At the Brits last year Matt won his youth category with a run so strong it dropped him into Bronze medal place in the overall men’s team.

He also won Asda’s Young Athlete of the Year and now has funding support from Asda and SportsAid.

A member of the young people’s sport panel in Scotland, Matt has worked on national events and consultations to influence the Youth Sport Strategy paving the way for future young people in sport.

Time and again, Matt proves a brilliant role model for younger snowboarders and grasps every opportunity to better other young people’s access to Sport in Scotland.
