Lauren King, aged 17 from Wishaw in Lanarkshire, is full time carer for her brother, Ryan who has cerebral palsy and is registered blind. Lauren also fits an in an inspiring amount of other activities to help others.

A member of the Scottish Youth Parliament and Chair of Motherwell Youth Voice, she addressed the first ever sitting of the Carers Parliament at the Scottish Parliament. Lauren is currently launching her own Youth Club for children with additional support needs and mainstream children.

In school, Lauren is a Peer Educator and helps to run lunch clubs and other activities for younger pupils. She also holds down a part-time job and is passionate about representing the voice of young people and helping those with a disability to enjoy a life of opportunity and equality.
