Lauren Butler, aged 11 from Edinburgh has gone above and beyond to educate and promote some of Edinburgh’s best known landmarks. As part of her John Muir award, she’s promoted Historic Scotland’s campaign for Year of Natural Scotland by producing posters to share her knowledge of Holyrood Park’s wildlife. She has also produced a training aid for the Historic Scotland Volunteer Rangers on rare butterfly species.
A member of the Young Archaeologists’ Club, Lauren helped to make models to promote Cairnpapple Hill, one of Historic Scotland’s oldest sites.
Her love of Holyrood Park meant that she rounded up a group of her friends and families clear up litter around the historic St. Margaret’s Loch.
