The Bo’Ness Scottish Railway Preservation Society Youth Group, 12 – 16 are an amazing group of young people who help to preserve Scotland’s oldest steam railway. In all weathers and weekends, these youngsters are cleaning locos and carriages, keeping platforms clear and painting fences.
The group spend hours helping to preserve the country’s steam heritage but also help to make it a tourist attraction and something that is still very much part of the community.
The young people volunteer at large events including the Spooky Train, the Santa Train and the Black Bun Train which are sold out months in advance. They all wear authentic uniforms and are always polite and helpful.
Their aim is simple, to ensure the railway can be seen and enjoyed and preserved for future generations.
