Energetic and creative, Ali Mudassir, aged 20 from Glasgow, decided to set up a cricket team in the unlikeliest of places…Springburn. The student wanted to bring young people from refugee countries together with other youngsters in the area who said they was little to do. Ignoring those who said it was too expensive and would never work, he started the team himself and it’s now set to join the Scottish Cricket League.

Ali, also a member of the Red Road residents association and a committee member of North Glasgow Integration Network, regularly clocks up 40 hours a week volunteering, helping many groups in the community where he lives.
