A remarkable young man, Alex Horne, aged 20 from Glasgow, grew up in care but now uses his experience to support other young people and families in the care system.
Determined other young people won’t face the same problems, he now works with Who Cares? Scotland, a voluntary organisation that directly supports youngsters. Alex runs the Corporate Parenting Training Programme and speaks directly to all of Scotland’s local authorities about his experiences to help them improve the lives of children in their care.
Determined and passionate on a deeply personal subject, Alex has given evidence to parliament and MSPs in relation to the care system. He wants to be a youth worker and help young people from care cope with being away from their families.
