Young Scot worked with Pilrig Park School to capture their annual showcase event on film.

This show, performed in front of over 900 people was a fantastic celebration of the young people’s hard work and dedication. The show, entitled, The American Dream showcased the young people talents in dance and provided the young people with an opportunity to dispel the myths that young people in Scotland are lazy, uninvolved and unmotivated through their energetic, passionate and inspirational 90 minute performance.

The show also provided an ideal opportunity to engage with people, find out their perceptions of young people in Scotland and to find out how this positive example of young people’s involvement in the arts had impacted them and their perception of young people.

What do you think of the show? Do you know young people who use the arts to promote positive change in their communities? If so, we would love to hear their story.
